Proof of life.
I shall name it "Internal Domestic Colonization", and the more I contemplate current events the more I'm convinced that's a big part of what's going on. That habit, that mode of thought, the idea of expansion and growth by colonization, pretty well owned the Weatern cultures for over five hundred years. How naive to think that much social momentum just went *poof* and vanished when the planet came full. Of course it didn't, it just shifted its' focus from geographic regions to the demographics found associated with the various proffessions supporting modern society. Psycholgy colonized Education for example. Once upon a time that wave rolled away from the parent culture, but now it can't go very far at all before it hits the sea wall of another and bounces back into the parent. If we can't colonize them then we'll colonize those we call "other" within our own cultue. Do you hear me talking, oh partisan politician?
