You know, it dawns on me I've never, ever, encountered a neglected kitchen where there wasn't just a running river of mommy issues ranging from heavy to severe in direct proportion to the depth of the pile. Oh well, I suppose this shouldn't really be that big a mystery, not really, not since the only thing more maternal than washing dishes is childbirth.
"...more maternal than washing dishes..." You obviously haven't been in my families! On the ranch, we all helped, and with both my ex and my lady, I always washed up, although for different reasons. My ex hated dishes, so I did them to keep peace; my other lady, the one who passed a year ago March, was too sick to do them even when she insisted on cooking. So, by default and necessity, I have been dishwasher. :)
